Buying the Right Jewelry for You

Your jewelry is an important accessory for any outfit. Take the same care with choosing your jewelry as you would with the rest of your wardrobe. Jewelry is the finishing touch on your look. Ask yourself what you want your jewelry to represent. Do you want it to be the focus? Would you prefer your jewelry to be more subtle or to complement your outfit?

If you are going to an event or party, make sure that your jewelry is appropriate for the occasion. A flashy choker may be perfect with one of your sexy black dresses for a night on the town, but it would not be appropriate for a conservative business dinner.

When buying jewelry, determine how much you want to spend. Decide how often you will wear the piece and how long you will wear it. If you are purchasing a timeless piece that you will wear often, you may want to consider inventing more money in a quality piece of jewelry. However, if you are looking for a trendy piece to go with a specific outfit, consider spending less because you will not get as much use out of it.

When looking for jewelry, think outside of the box. If you have a favorite designer, that’s great, but don’t limit yourself. There is so much beautiful jewelry out there that you can find amazing pieces that are not from a designer. You can even mix designer and unsigned jewelry for your own signature look. Costume jewelry is another affordable way to create a look. Costume jewelry can be amazing and possess a lot of pizzazz, and you can get several unique and trendy pieces because they are not expensive.

Also, sterling silver jewelry is affordable and goes with any wardrobe. Silver jewelry runs the range from oversized and noticeable to subtle and delicate. Silver can be worn with jeans or an evening gown and is the perfect accessory for any outfit.

When choosing rings, you can go all out. There are so many styles to choose from that you are sure to find a ring that is perfect for any outfit or any occasion. You can find intricate and dainty designs or you can find rings that are so large that they are almost overwhelming. Consider the size of your hand and fingers when choosing a ring. If you have skinny fingers, it is better to find smaller, more delicate rings. Large, oversized rings look great on a woman who has thicker fingers.

When purchasing other jewelry, there are some things to keep in mind. Make sure you choose the right length of necklace. To find the right length, measure some of the necklaces that you own to determine your favorite length. When you are looking for earrings, remember that you can find an endless array of shapes, styles, and sizes. The larger the size of the earring, the more noticeable it will be. If you have delicate features, large, oversized earrings may overpower you. If you have an oval-shaped face, you can wear basically any style and size of earring that you want. If your face is round, avoid large hoops or button earrings because they can make your face look wider. Dangling earrings will help to make your face look longer. If your face is rectangular in shape, avoid dangling earrings and choose smaller stud earrings instead.

Options for jewelry are endless. No matter what your style, taste, and budget, you will be able to find pieces that you love. You can use your jewelry to make a statement or to complement your outfit. When choosing jewelry, purchase pieces that you love and that you feel comfortable with. Experiment and have fun. It may take some trial and error to find that perfect necklace or ring for you.

Where to Buy Dresses for Less

Dresses can be expensive if you are paying brand name and department store prices, but they don’t have to be. Getting great dresses at even better prices simply requires that you know where to look to find bargains. Here are a few suggestions for finding the clothes you are looking for at prices you can afford.

Shop at thrift stores and used clothing stores. Buying thrift isn’t as cool as it once was, but those who still do will tell you that it’s worth it! You can find a lot of quality clothes with plenty of wear left in them. This is especially true when it comes to dresses, as people tend not to wear them as much; therefore, they are often in much better shape when it comes time for the person to part with them.

The trickiest thing about shopping for dresses at thrift stores is the fact that it is kind of hit or miss, meaning sometimes you find something really great and other times you don’t find anything at all. However, if you know your local thrift stores well, you can quickly go in, thumb through the dresses in your size, and leave without spending a lot of time if there is nothing that interests you.

Yard sales can also be another way of shopping thrift, but in general they are even more hit or miss, not to mention it uses up a lot more gas to drive from sale to sale. Unless you know the person holding the sale, not to mention their tastes in clothes, you may want to save your time and your gas for a more productive method of bargain shopping.

Shop at discount stores. There are stores nationwide that sell name brand clothing at discount prices. Often these stores buy clothing with small flaws from the manufacturer at a steep discount so that they can pass on some of the savings to the shopper. Other times they buy out overstock or merchandise from chains that are closing.

Like with thrift stores, this can be rather hit or miss, though it is not as bad. One of the advantages to shopping at discount stores is that you will often see the same dresses in several sizes, whereas at a thrift store the size you see is the size you get.

Shop online. Believe it or not, online outlets can be excellent sources for finding name brand dresses, both previously used and brand new. Used clothing is pretty self-explanatory: Either the seller owned it and is now passing it on, or they buy up used clothes from others and sell them on the Internet.

There is a lot of brand name clothing and jewelry selling on e-commerce Web sites. Typically the sellers buy overstock, returned items, and irregular clothing in large quantities and resell everything separately. Therefore it is not difficult to find exactly what you want for a much lower price than what you would pay in a department store or a pricey clothing store.

Shop outlet stores. Many big clothing companies sell off overstock or last season’s stuff via outlet stores. Your area may have an outlet mall or a shopping center full of outlet stores where you can shop brand name stores at discounted prices. Although the dresses you find here may be last season’s, there’s no reason why you can’t buy a few and put them away for next year!

For a dedicated bargain hunter, it is actually pretty easy to find great dresses at even better prices. It’s all about knowing where to shop!

How to Care for Your Boots

Boots are a beautiful addition to any wardrobe. They come in a variety of different styles and colors and can be made to go with almost any outfit. Boots can be expensive, however, and you can waste a lot of money if you don’t take care of them properly and prolong their life as much as possible.

Caring for your boots is different depending on whether they are made of leather or manmade materials such as pleather. Leather comes from animals, and therefore the oils naturally found in it tend to dry out over time. The best way to care for your leather boots is to replace these oils periodically.

The first thing you will need to do is be sure to clean your leather boots regularly. Dirt and soil are hard on leather and can shorten its life. You can buy some good leather cleaners at the store, but in a pinch a mild solution of soapy water will do quite nicely.

You can also buy other leather products that will help to prolong the life of your boots, such as oils and leather conditioner. The best product is one that will maintain the color of the leather through use. When oiling or conditioning your leather boots, only apply as much product as the leather will soak in. Multiple thin coats are the best approach.

Once you have conditioned the leather, you will need to wait for it to dry and then polish it. This can be done by buffing with a soft white cloth of 100 percent cotton, such as a retired undershirt or T-shirt. If the boots have scuffs in the leather, you will need to use shoe polish to fill in and disguise the flaws.

Finally, you may want to consider applying a protective spray to your boots that will protect them from stains and moisture. Whether or not you use such a spray, though, you should be sure to always clean off any spills immediately after they happen. A protective spray simply lessens the likelihood that the spill will stain the leather in that short amount of time.

Suede boots must be cared for slightly differently. First of all, a protective spray is almost imperative for suede, as they cannot be cleaned and polished as easily as smooth leather. This spray will protect your suede boots from becoming damaged by moisture and will help prevent dirt buildup. You will also want to periodically remove any loose dirt by gently brushing the suede with a soft brush, a dry sponge, or even a towel.

Because leather and suede boots require so much work, boots that are made of manmade materials are obviously very popular for the lack of care they require, not to mention the reduced cost of buying them in the first place. Fake leather boots can and should be cleaned periodically with a warm, damp washcloth, but they typically don’t require any polishing or conditioning. If your fake leather boots become scuffed, you can cover the blemish up with a special product or just use a magic marker to fill in the color where the surface has been scraped off.

Whether your boots are made of leather or of manmade materials, they are an investment in your wardrobe, just like jewelry is. Therefore you should do your best to protect them and extend their life through proper care, such as cleaning them regularly, conditioning if and when it is needed, and using special products to protect leather from stains. Take good care of your boots, and make sure you get your money’s worth out of them!

Why A Man Wants A Real Woman

If you pick up the latest copy of Vogue, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, or even a men's magazine like FHM, there are lots of women on view. Women in various states of undress, or in fashion clothing, or on photo shoots. The common denominator is the 'look' of the women. They all look slim, ultra fit, toned, and apparently sexy.

Do women really want to look that way? It seems that they do. But why? From a male perspective, a cursory glance through a woman's magazine is a nightmare.

There may be one, and if you're lucky, two articles. Things like 'how to find a man', 'how to keep a man','how to be sexy for your man' and 'how to look great on your wedding night'.

And apart from these eye opening reads, there are nothing but adverts! Adverts for shoes, make up, hair products, the latest fashion clothing, underwear, skin care, female hygiene, jewellery, accessories - the list goes on.

All these items are accompanied by a well made up, well dressed, airbrushed model.
It appears that women everywhere, every day, fall for this advertising strategy. Women everywhere buy the latest products so that they can look like a magazine model.

But where is the reality amongst all the glamour? Do women honestly have any idea at all about what men really like? This is a great subject, the differences between men and women.
Men look at magazines. They will look at the gorgeous models. They may even fantasise once in a while about going out with such a model, or someone famous, or an actress. But that's all it amounts to.

Pure fantasy. Men realise that the girls are made up by professional make-up artists. That their faces and figures areairbrushed to death by the magazine editors. That their hair is invariably blowing in a wind machine. And that the wardrobe designers are pretty good at their jobs.

What women don't seem to know is that men like 'real' women. A real woman has a career, children, dreams, hopes, faults, and imperfections. A real woman will have a mind of her own, and be able to hold a decent conversation. And for the majority of men, a real woman must have an hour glass figure.Slim, toned women look good in magazines, and what man would not like to be seen out for dinner with a model. Having a model girlfriend might make a man the envy of his friends, but in reality its not that great. (Take it from one who knows).
When your girlfriend is constantly being asked for autographs, pictures with fans, ontinually being hit on by the rich and famous, or being asked for her number by everyone else, then working out, facepacking every night, pampering herself in ways you can't imagine, before flying off to some exotic location for a two week photo shoot, the relationship can become a little strained.

Men want reality in bed with them every night. Ideally, a woman who is shapely, good looking, good fun to be with, and who is happy to keep herelf that way.

For men, sexy is a woman who can 'think' male. If a woman has a male attitude towards life, she is the sexiest thing in creation. If she is confident without being brash, can fight her corner in a discussion,is not afraid of her own sexuality, has a great sense of humour and knows how to use her feminine charms, men will flock to her. Her looks really will not matter, as long as she is comfortable in her own ability.

Some of the sexiest women known to man haven't been the best looking. Angelina, Megan Fox, Carmen Electra. All great to look at. Probably great to shack up with for a night or
two. For men, pure fantasy.Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rachel Bilson and Britney. Again, good to look at, but these women are a little more real. Still, we are in fantasy land here.

Our current gilfriends. As long as they stay the way we like them, that's the reality that all men are looking for.

A Lesson From Akademiks

One of the most popular brand of hip hop and urban clothing line today comes from an brand founded by some of the US' greatest designers, the akademiks. The akademiks is a clothing brand founded by fashion designer brothers Emmet and Donwan Harrell. As Donwan being a former top 10 designers at Nike, he used what he learned from designing hip hop rubber shoes to designing a clothing line that would soon become one of the top urban clothing line across America. But akademiks didn't only start with the brothers Harrell. This clothing line was first started when the founded of Dr. Jays asked them to create the next big clothing line.

15 years before the akademiks, the brothers worked for the top dogs of the fashion industry, namely Donna Karan, Ecko, Phat Farm, as well as Nike, in which they made a lot of money along the way. After some time, they met up with the owner of Dr. Jays, Elliot Betesh, and made a proposal to them about making the next big thing in the world of fashion. The brothers decided to team up with him and created akademiks.

Part of their marketing campaign included the “Read Books, Get Brains” slogan that got akademiks it’s attention, especially by the New York City officials that took it down because of its double-sided meaning. But this didn’t stop akademiks to claim its birthright. Apart from the trend setting designs of akademiks, there is also intelligence in every piece of akademiks. The brothers Harrell have designed akademiks for the customer.

They are their own fans and customer. What they think is good and useful to them, may also be good and useful for their customers. This is what akademiks is made of, a thinking brand with detail that has double meaning.

The akdamikes was also popularized in 2001 by Brooklyn rapper Fabolous whose lyrical content advertised the brand. He also wore an akademiks velour on the inside cover of his debut album Ghetto Fabolous.

Another factor for its popularity is its PRPS jeans. The akademiks has gained popularity in the clothing industry due to the number of celebrities who wear the PRPS jeans (a sister company of akademiks), such as rappers Dizzee Rascal and 50 Cent.
